Those grants have gone to help individuals to pay back rent and to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table, Stephanie explained. The Salvation Army received grants from the CARES Act and FRC in the approximate combined amount of $160,000. Ninety-eight cents of every dollar donated or raised in Mesquite stays here in the community, she said. Stephanie asked the public to remember that the Salvation Army of Mesquite is self-supportive dependent upon local donations. It was an opportunity for volunteers and those who have given time and donations to the Salvation Army of Mesquite to say their goodbyes. Last week, before she left the position, Stephanie sat down with volunteers to reminisce about past fundraisers and community events. Stephanie said that Ennis comes to Salvation Army with many years of community involvement and experience.Įnnis comes from Utah with 42 years in the military, Civil Law Enforcement and work as a COO and Director of Facilities at a Mental Hospital in Vegas. Replacing Stephanie in this important position will be new director, Bill Ennis. The organization is now in a position where Stephanie feels good about passing the director’s torch on to someone else starting on September 4. Stephanie has brought that to a positive balance through local fundraisers and donations. At that time, the local organization was running a deficit of around $70,000. Stephanie, a full-time director, and Bill, an unpaid volunteer, stepped into the position at Salvation Army in 2016. Stephanie and Bill have given many hours of their time to the Salvation Army of Mesquite, administering housing and food assistance to many throughout the Virgin Valley and Moapa Valley areas. Salvation Army of Mesquite is bidding farewell and best wishes to its Director, Stephanie Woolley and her husband Bill who have worked tirelessly for four years now to help needy members of the community.
